Hello all. Let me sum it up the sports events which happened this week. Good week ahead folks! :) 

SPORTS

Indian Cricket:

Men: 

  1.      Non bailable warrant issued against Dhoni.
  2.        Rohit Sharma, Manish pandey hit fifties and stars in India’s 64 run over Western Australia XI.(One-day match)
  3.        Kohli,Dhawan gains form by scoring 74 and took India to a 74 run win over Western Australia XI (T20)
  4.        Bhuvaneshwar kumar replaces injured Shami for the Australian tour.
  5.       The teenager school boy Praveen creates history by scoring 1009* in an innings. 

Women:

Indian team announced for Australian tour: 

  1. ODI squad: Mithali Raj (capt), Jhulan Goswami (vice-capt), Smriti Mandhana, Thirush Kamini, Harmanpreet Kaur, Veda Krishnamurthy, Shikha Pandey, Niranjana Nagarajan, Sushma Verma, Ravi Kalpana (wk), Ekta Bisht, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Poonam Raut, Poonam Yadav, Sneh Rana.
  2. T20I squad: Mithali Raj (capt), Jhulan Goswami (vice-capt), Smriti Mandhana, Thirush Kamini, Harmanpreet Kaur, Veda Krishnamurthy, Shikha Pandey, Niranjana Nagarajan, Sushma Verma (wk), Ekta Bisht, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Poonam Yadav, Vellaswamy Vanitha, Anuja Patil, Deepti Sharma. 
  3. Subhlakshmi and latika were left out of the squad and sushma has been recalled. Her last match was during 2014.
  4. Tour starts from jan 26. Three ODIs and two T20.
  5. This is our team’s first professional tour since the contract signed by the BCCI.


International cricket:

  1.           Gayle was fined $10,000 which will go to Mcgrath foundation for an inappropriate comment he made over the reporter for fun.
  2.      .    Bavuma’s ton and Amla’s 200 took SA for a draw.
  3.      .    Amla steps down as test captain and Devilliers to lead.
  4.       .  New Zealand wins the first T20I against Sri lanka. NZ already won the ODI series this week.
  5.      .   Afghanistan wins the series against Zimbabwe and gets into top 10.

Golf:

          World no.1  Jordan Spieth leads at Kapalua.

Tennis:

MEN(ATP)

1 .Wawrinka and coric to fight for Chennai open
2. Djokovic beats Nadal (60th title) in the finals of Doha open now has a positive H2H record over Nadal.While Felicano Lopez and Marc lopez defeats Philip and peya.
3. Federer to face Raonic in the finals of Brisbane international.
4. Qureshi becomes the ambassador of WWF.
5. Chung receives most improved player award.

WOMEN(WTA):

1.     Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza won their 10th WTA doubles title together in Brisbane.
2.     The pair have now won 26 matches in a row - the longest doubles win streak in 22 years.
3.       Azarenka wins Brisbane international, her first title in almost two years
4.       New world no:4 Radwanska won the Shenzhen open, her 18th title.
5.       Sloane Stephens wins the Auckland open.
